Asaph's Daughter was the dream in my heart that I didn't know would ever happen until one day, a Godly woman from my church called and said that God had given her direction to give me money to record a CD. The money was from an inheritance she had gotten. Wow. I just sat there and cried because I didn't know it was the time, but God just worked through her and said, "Yes, this is the time." To her and her sweet husband, I will forever be in debt and awe that they would choose to listen and obey God's command to bless me. Yet, that is how He works-- blessing us even though we never deserve it, loving us so wildly, so specifically, so crazily. Being loved by the Maker of the Stars is such a humbling and awesome reality!
Then, God eventually led me through acquaintances to go to Nashville and work with the very generous and talented Jeremy Casella, a singersongwriter/producer/etc. So, I went to Nashville, always my childhood dream, and recorded a CD! It was such a beautiful, gracious, scary experience to be surrounded by such talent and yet stand in my gift and learn and receive and be still. Now, God has finally birthed this product, and I hope you are so blessed.
The name Asaph's Daughter comes from the man, Asaph, in the Old Testament. He was a Levitical priest who was largely in charge of all things musical for the Temple. Growing up, I knew that I was from His line, spiritually speaking. I knew that God had fashioned me in such a way as to sing for His church, His glory. Without a doubt, one of the ways I am meant to serve the church is through the sounds that make music. Along with that, Asaph, just like David, wrote many Psalms, and several of the songs on this album are derived from specific Psalms. Indeed, this album is my personal Psalter, the songs that God has given me to share about life and journeying with Him.
I love sharing psalters, be they musical or not. Thanks for walking with me, and I am excited to journey with you, as well.
Available on iTunes and here on this site. I hope you enjoy!
